Here’s comething unusual for me, something with rhymes. Maybe it’s a good thing I don’t usually rhyme…
Friends of Mine
These stars Are old friends of mine Always there At night, they shine Orion guards the winter skies Even Aquila from him flies Saggittarius joins the chase Shamed Elektra hides her face Is vain Cassiopia any more fair Than the curls of Bernice’s hair? Delphinus swims the Milky Way In the north, the Bears will stay Corvus plays delaying games While Lacaille adds a few new names Plough or dipper, king or bear What names we give, they do not care Yellow, green, blue and red On they go, with steady tread With them, we tell our histories And seek the universal mysteries Yes, these stars Are old friends of mine Day or night, I know They shine
