Ok, this is more for the Michigan community than anything else (at least for now).

The UM community has an island, called Wolverine, at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Wolverine/60/106/32.  It’s a members only island. Information including events is at http://slum.wetpaint.com/?t=anon

The ground floor of the museum has a number of astronomy related items for the astronomy theme semester. Additionally, during the theme semester there will be field trips leaving from Wolverine Island going to astronomy related locations in SL. Also, a couple projects are slowly being planned (anyone in the UM community with ideas or who are interesed in working on projects should contact me – I’m Aquilla Heron in SL.)

Members can also attend the Friday brownbag, visit some of the other buildings, or play in the sandbox. There are areas for meetings, classes and student productions.

Information on how to become a member of the island is available at http://slum.wetpaint.com/page/Access+to+Wolverine+Island, or you can email Patricia F. Anderson or Marc Stephens (look them up in the online directory, http://directory.umich.edu/.
