Prospero Frobozz has created a nice little collection of astronomy exhibits in SL on Grouse Island.
The best thing is (imho) the Celestial Sphere, located at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Grouse/114/76/116. You can make several adjustments to it, like setting it to display the horizon or not, or setting it for the northern or southern hemisphere. If you click on the image you should get a larger version, and you might be able to read the buttons to see all the options.
Prospero Frobozz also organizes the popular astronomy lecture series in SL, and keeps info on astronomy related events in SL. The list of talks can be found at http://www.mica-vw.org/wiki/index.php/PopularTalks You might also be interested in his blog, at http://www.sonic.net/~rknop/blog/
